An exciting opportunity for a Finance Business Partner to support the central Accounts team at AmcoGiffen working closely with regional commercial teams and responsible for monthly reporting and related analysis along with business partnering support.

 

Business Overview

AmcoGiffen’s project and framework portfolio typically consists of Infrastructure and Capital Delivery projects, Asset Maintenance frameworks, maintenance and renewals of transport and railway infrastructure including but not limited to; bridge re-construction/replacement, upgrades and refurbishments, station work (platforms etc.), access for all schemes, structures including overbridges and under bridges, tunnels and footbridges.

 

The Role

As Finance Business Partner, supporting the South region portfolio of work, you will be working within an evolving finance team, reporting to the Head of Finance and working closely with the regional commercial teams responsible for monthly reporting and related analysis along with business partnering support.

 

The Finance Business Partner will provide support Regional Commercial teams with delivering results in line with agreed annual business strategies. The role supports all regions from tendering through to contract delivery and challenges Commercial and Operational colleagues on working capital management and contract profitability.

 

Day to day duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Review key Financial data of our live commercial projects ensuring accounting integrity is maintained at period ends.
  • Collate/summarise information from multiple sites to give an overview analysis to finance and non-financial managers using appropriate analytical tools.
  • Work with Regional Commercial Directors to grow their businesses via bid and tendering support and to manage risk in their project portfolios.
  • Support Regional Commercial Managers during external audit of the contract portfolio.
  • Work with the finance and commercial teams and manage the internal controls, processes and procedures.
  • Act as a Contract Accounting subject matter expert and influence system development within the organisation.
  • Support any analysis required resulting from M&A activity within the organisation.
  • Lead on the completion of the annual insurance questionnaire from the company’s insurance broker.
  • Implement and deliver improved all round performance, management information and support corporate goals.
  • Produce management accounts information as allocated to support budgets and forecasting.
  • To develop good working relationships with budget holders, influencing and challenging as necessary.
  • Ensure accuracy of contract working capital reporting including weekly contract receipts forecasting, debtors aging and challenge areas of aged contract Work In Progress (WIP) and other areas of contract risk.
  • Challenge cash positions on contracts with commercial teams as necessary when reviewing payments to ensure our suppliers are paid to terms and in compliance with the Prompt Payment Code of practice.
  • To manage continuous improvement and take on other duties as required.
  • Manage and develop the Assistant Finance Business Partner. Coach them through their role and their professional examinations.
  • Develop relationships with other key stakeholders across the business.

 

Requirements

The successful candidate will be at least a CIMA finalist but preferably a newly qualified Management Accountant. In time the role will involve the coaching of an Assistant Finance Business Partner who will be studying towards the CIMA qualification.
